At 1 Life Memorials, every marker and monument is custom crafted with care, precision, and respect. Because these products are made to order, it is important that customers understand the design, approval, production, and delivery process before placing an order. This policy is intended to clearly outline what to expect.
Digital Mockup & Approval Process
After your order is placed, a digital marker or monument mockup will be created based on the information and design selections provided at checkout.
• A mockup will be provided within 72 hours of your order
• Production does not begin until final approval of the mockup is received
• Customers are responsible for reviewing all names, dates, spellings, layout, and design details carefully
Once approval is given, the order moves into production and changes may no longer be possible.
Photo Cameo Submissions & Review
If your memorial includes a photo cameo, the image uploaded during the ordering process is used to represent design intent and placement only.
All photo cameo images are reviewed after purchase to ensure they meet production and quality standards for engraving or porcelain cameo manufacturing. Each image is evaluated for resolution, clarity, lighting, contrast, and overall suitability.
Image Adjustments
If a submitted photo requires minor adjustments, such as cropping, contrast enhancement, or light correction, these adjustments may be made internally to ensure the best possible final result while preserving the likeness and intent of the original image.
Replacement or Customer Approval
If a photo does not meet minimum production standards, is too low in quality, or requires significant modification, we will contact the customer to request a replacement image or approval before production begins.
Production will not proceed until an acceptable image is provided or approval is received.
Due to the nature of engraving, etching, firing, and colorization processes, the final appearance of photo cameos may vary slightly from digital previews or on-screen mockups.
Production Timeline
Because each marker and monument is custom manufactured, production times vary.
• Please allow 8 to 10 weeks for your marker or monument to be produced after final mockup approval.
• Production timelines may vary slightly due to material availability, weather conditions, or manufacturing volume.
We will keep you informed if any unexpected delays occur.
Delivery Timeline & Process
Delivery is coordinated once production is complete.
• Delivery is included within 50 miles of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
• Additional delivery distance is billed per mile beyond 50 miles.
• Delivery timelines depend on production completion, cemetery access, and scheduling availability.
Customers will be contacted prior to delivery to coordinate timing when applicable.
Important Notice Regarding Proofs & Final Appearance
Digital mockups are intended to represent layout, spacing, and design placement. Final products may vary slightly from digital proofs or mockups.
Variations may occur due to:
• Granite color and natural stone characteristics
• Etching and sandblasting techniques
• Depth of engraving
• Colorization and shading processes
• Lighting and viewing conditions
These variations are normal and inherent to the monument and marker manufacturing process and do not constitute defects.
Custom Product Acknowledgment
All markers and monuments sold by 1 Life Memorials are custom-made memorial products.
• Orders cannot be canceled once production has begun.
• Refunds or remakes will not be issued for approved designs due to aesthetic differences caused by natural materials or manufacturing processes.
We encourage customers to ask questions prior to approving their mockup to ensure complete satisfaction.
